I am currently a mental health therapist at Wellspring Christian Clinic in Alabama.
But I feel most alive when I am teaching Scripture.
I felt led to lead a Bible study for the first time about 20-something years ago. I was scared to death but began studying diligently. The more I studied and taught the more passionate I became.
I am motivated by the fact that there are people out there who hunger for the Truth — and if they come to my Bible study, I want them to be well-fed spiritually.
I LOVE the Lord and Scripture; and I LOVE people.
I was really good at Kung Fu in high school, something most people find surprising. Partly because I am also a person who plays the harp!
I am such a foodie. I love good food! I tell people eating is my favorite hobby.
I love to kayak so much that I bought a water-proof Bible to take out on the water with me.
I loved growing up in West Virginia and still call myself a "Mountain Mama" sometimes.
Tina Sumpter is currently a mental health therapist at Wellspring Christian Clinic. She is the Discipleship Director at her home church and the Women's Ministry Coach for Good News Fellowship, an international association of churches that is on mission to expand the Kingdom of God. Tina also leads a prison ministry called Radiant that serves to disciple incarcerated women.
Tina's educational journey began at Bethany College in West Virginia, where she studied German, Education, and Psychology. After studying abroad, she married her high school sweetheart and transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in German. She later earned a Master of Arts in German with a Concentration in Education from the University of Alabama.
Tina enjoyed many years of homeschooling her four children, leading discipleship ministries and women’s ministries, teaching Bible studies, leading prison ministries, and serving in a strip club ministry. Tina eventually returned to the classroom and earned her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. In addition to counseling, mentoring, and teaching, she enjoys spending time with her young adult children, date nights with her husband, kayaking, and going on walks with her dog named Daisy.
